The bell tower at Highlands United Methodist Church, in the Five Points area, is probably one of the most photogenic ! You may remember this unique and beautiful church from an earlier post here, and the reason that this church is close to my heart. This is where they serve breakfast to the homeless and those in need, six days a week. One morning when I was standing outside chatting with some of the breakfast guests, one of the men told me all about the chiming of the bells and how beautiful it was. He was very pleased that I stayed around long enough to hear them. Indeed he was right. A heavenly sound that brightens the days of all those that hear it. A blessing to the community in more ways than one.

belle prise de vue, dommage que tu ne puisses pas faire un détour par Evry.
nice shot, pity that you can not make a detour by Evry.
The ornaments look majestic, V. Would you explore it from other angles for us, please?
Have a great weekend, V.
Virginia, Love this photo - and the previous one. Beautiful church, beautifully captured by you. Love more of Michael's music too - can't wait to share with Dave in the morning. Guess what arrived today - you betcha - our own copy of Timeless. Feels like we've died and gone to heaven to listen to an entire album of such wonderful music.
This is beautiful, V. You know, I'm not a religious person but I always stop and listen to church bells. They are so hopeful and lovely. I hear them on Sundays here because there is a church nearby. It's wonderful.
Bell ringing is an art form, when well done it is deeply satisfying.
Lovely church.
That's a very lovely bell tower set off against that that blue sky. I love listening to church bells chiming..
Have a nice weekend!
What a beautiful church and a great contribution to Skywatch!
I almost heard the bells toll!
Very great shot !
The church is beautiful and high...
The sky is "good" blue...
Wonderful architecture and apparently wonderful people here as well.
The sound of church bells ringing always stirs my heart & soul. Such a personal sound that means so many different things to folks. I could almost imagine the ringing as I read your post.
It was beautiful to see for the short time I was there two weeks ago. I wish I could have heard the chimes.
Love it! And the sky doesn't even capture my notice. Excellent photo of the building, which is fabulous.
Wish I were there to hear the bells. One thing I enjoy while traveling is viewing church bell towers like yours shown here.
A nice "clocher"..
I love to hear bells ringing, and I miss it here.
I should come and serve breakfast too, to enjoy them!
nice perspective of the church and the description adds a lot of interest.
you have a great blog and you're a talented photographer!
it was sooo nice to visit your blog today! It was like coming home:)
That building is an architectural delight! I bet the bells are wonderful.
I also love the tower for the architectural details. Another lovely photo with a good angle. And for church bells - I really miss not having any close by. I think it is so wonderful of you to help out or just chat with the breakfast guests. I bet it meant a whole lot to them too.
It leaves me speechless! It's incredible to look at!
Sounds like a wonderful church and it's certainly pretty in your picture.
What a beautifully architecture building photographed at an intriguing perspective! I’ve shared ‘pink clouds on blue skies’ (and a bit of haiku) at Sacred Ruminations ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Don't the bells toll for us? Wasn't that the answer at the end of the novel: by the way, Robert Jordan was Hemingway's best hero: the True Hemingway Hero!
beautiful!
Ssh! Stop the bells. Beautiful building and marvellously composed.
This is just gorgeous! It could be in Europe! You could say that.....I would never have known the difference! Greetings from Iowa.
"Louis" likes the texture of this image very much, Virginia. This is a fine contribution to SWF!
