Photographer's Rule # 1 ..... NEVER leave your camera at home. If I had today, I would have missed this fabulous lady! Another "museum" shot. I get at least one every week, I promise. There I am being the cheerful but not terribly knowledgable exhibit greeter today, and I look up and this lovely lady, along with some of her friends came right by me. After I told her how gorgeous she looked in that spiffy hat with the bright green feathers, I flew downstairs to get my camera. They were having a birthday luncheon for one of her friends in the museum cafe, and I knelt by her chair ( I was prepared to grovel) and asked if I could take her picture. She cheerfully agreed and made sure I got her new handbag in the shot. She asked me what I would do with it, and I told her with any luck at all she would be on the internet by morning. She laughed and said she didn't even HAVE the internet!! Thank you Miss Terry for making my day. By the way, her friend told me she's quite spirited. I already knew that!

Good morning, Virginia, there's nothing like a group of Grand Dames on an outing to celebrate something special in their lives. Miss Terry made my day, Miss Virginia (don't you just love that we get to be "that little girl" no matter how old we get?). And I never, never, never leave the house without earrings or my camera!
She has a really strange handbag. I cannot see very well. What is it? Seems a pizza ! Great shot anyway!Great smile under those feathers!

Wasn't there commercial for Visa credit card with a tagline, "don't leave home without it?" A good rule of thumb for your camera.

Virginia, I was disappointed when I didn't see your Friday post as I headed to bed last night. More then worth the wait to meet Miss Terry! If you only had your great photo we would know she was "spirited" but your words go on to tell it all. For sure lets hope one of her friends will share with her.

Snap, I bought point and shoot but it's not pocket sized either although it's smaller than my Rebel. I hate those tiny ones because they don't usually have a viewfinder that works. I've lost some shots because I don't always have it. They laugh at me for bringing my camera in when I work at the museum but I get some good ones every time!

Before digital cameras the "rule of thumb" was not to put your thumb over the lens, or to leave the lens cap on. Times have changed.
