Wall Art

I love this wall.  It makes me smile every time I visit Sweet Peas Garden Shop on Linden Avenue in downtown Homewood.  You've been here before as well.  You all admired their fabulous pumpkin display for quite a while as my header and here.  Today I will be showing my photographs right here at an art show and open house.  There will be chili, beverages, music and  you can stroll the grounds and gift shop for fall plants and gifts.  My local readers of this blog, I hope you will stop by and say hello tomorrow.  I would love to meet you in person. ( The time: 11:00 till dark today)

A very Happy Birthday to our friend  Abe Lincoln at Brookville, OH Daily Photo.
Bon weekend everyone!

Too bad, but I will have to wait another 22 days to meet you personally! Let's see if we find some "green hats" around also in Paris!

Oh, yes, yes, YES! Love this wall and all walls like this. I so wish I could pop up to Paris, but not this time. I do plan to go around Easter if all goes well. Wonderful you're selling your photos, and envy your meeting others and not me, schnurf.

Thanks for your comments on my artsie eats today. Play with your food in Paris, too.

Virginia, Congratulations on showing your work at the wonderful "pumpkin patch"! Wish I could be there to see. We'll be so anxious to hear how things go. Haven't heard Juice Newton in years - thanks for finding her for us.

Knowing my weakness around everything which has something to see with gardens, I guess this place would be a dangerous one for my purse...

Very nice photo and it looks like a nice place to exhibit what you do best.

I am 74 years old -- today is my birthday.

Oh sorry Virginia! I didn't read attentively enough...I'm sure you'll have many visitors. What a pity Birmingham is so far for me, fortunately Paris is quite close!

Haven't been to the Sweet Pea in years. What time do the festivities begin?

Virginia said...

Web and Judy, I have always loved this song and my friend Jay Gilbert in Cincinatti helped me run it down the other night. He's my walking music library!

Peter, If I am wearing a "green" hat like that in Paris, I have probably had too much French
wine !HA

Bibi, we'll miss you too. Oh that i could pop back over at Easter and see you then.:(

Alice, you would love this place. THey have a gift shop with great things as well.

KD, It's from 11 till dark today. If I sell anything it will be cause for celebration!!

Good morning, Virginia!
I just posted a comment here and it evaporated. I'll try again.
Wow! What a wonderful place to be having your show. I can't wait to see the photographs of your show.

As for my picture puzzle, there aren't a lot of rules so maybe you could ask Strangetastes for a hint.

Virginia said...

Well Strangetastes is all the way around the world in Japan with no Wifi!!! He's no help-ha
DId I come close on the W-meter???

Don't you just love Sweet Peas! Good luck on showing!

I like this Sweat Peas place. Love that big "sunflower" on the wall. I hope we can visit often. Work has kept me offline lately, the good of the bad. Slowing down, and the future isn't all that rosey.

You find the neatest places around town to photograph, none of which seem to be the Magic City Flickr type photos. I live in Wilsonville, so my perspective on Birmingham is that place over the mountain where I seldom go, so I really enjoy your perspective.

No, think small and think photography for the other two.

Oh V, I wish I could scoot on over to Birmingham and share the fun of your show. Congratulations, you talented woman! Is there a Flickr album showing what you'll be presenting? (Care to tempt me to build an All Virginia Photo room in my house? Hee hee...)

Great shot as always.

What vibrant colors, V! And the round shapes of the sun flowers and the wheels make a very nice design. And oh, I can't help smiling looking at the bottom picture. ;)

Just answered your emails. I'm sorry for the late reply.

Have a great weekend, V!

I would so love to drop by tomorrow to meet you! I'm sure your photos will be hot sellers, as all the photos of yours that I've seen are fabulous! Love watching your Paris countdown number drop - I'm so excited for you! I'll put together a list of my favorite things before you go.

As for my photo puzzle, my hubby pointed out that the original image was too small (doy) so I've uploaded the photo differently. You can click to enlarge and maybe that will help!

Oh, I have been waiting to see if you photographed this!!!! I drive by it twice a week and never stop to snap my own photo!!!!! Thanks for posting it, I love it!

Virginia said...

Eeyore and Monkey SEe,
I am glad when my hometown folks like the subjects I choose. It's hard not to photograph places I enjoy and especially when they are as nice as John and his wife. We had a ball today. Great autumn weather, and it was extra fun because I showed with several really good friends. A lot of talking and laughing went on!

Laurie, I could furnish a room o fmy own with all the prints I have! Care to take some off my hands??

Congratulations on the art show!!

BTW, I was at Sweet Pea Garden Shop. I was that handsome older gentleman who stopped by and said HI to you while you were talking to the handsome young man with the French accent. :-)

I hope all goes well with the exhibitiona and local readers form an orderly queue. Relax, I couldn't agree more. I see that it was not indeed Koxville girl, but you who had the JD. TSK! THANK YOU though for the fb wine, which took me ages to open the email. Not sure how to open my bottle with my corkscrew though. Doesn't seem to be laptop compatible.

It looks like fall ... and will also feel like fall with the cold air moving in!

Virginia said...

Oh MIng, You are a mess!!!! Thank you for buying so many of my prints! Merci! We still would love to have you join us in Paris!

Robert, not that chilly although the wind was a little brisk today. Felt good for a change.

Kim said...

Okay, Virginia, was Ming really there? Now I'm so confused.
I hope you had a delightful time and much success at your show today! Seems like it is a very delightful atmosphere to just be in. You lucky!
And speaking of lucky, I wish I could stow away in your luggage for the Paris visit. What are you most looking forward to this trip?

Kim, Sorry to say Ming was not there buying up my photos! What am I most looking forward to? Well let's start with getting to meet in person Peter, Marie and Alice and perhaps more! After that everything that makes Paris a magical place to be. I am so looking forward to seeing the new places I missed the last time and the places I loved so much I can't wait to to see again. How wonderful to experience them this time with my French friends.
