Winter's Reflections

One thing I have learned as I near my 200th post, don't hoard photos. I've tried to adhere to the one photo a day rule and now I'm left with a zillion photos that I wanted to post but DIDN'T!  I'm thinking I am going to use the photos that I think you might like and so be it. Break the rules and suffer the consequences ( or as I said many times as an educator, " I'll ask forgiveness, not permission!").  When Eric comes to jerk my blog out from under me for posting too many photos in one day, I hope there will be an uprising of sorts.  Till then, let's have some fun!

Yesterday I ventured back to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.  It was late afternoon - chilly, overcast, and mizzly as all get out.  Not a day to stroll the gardens but I loved it.  An added bonus - the puddles that were mirroring some nice reflections.  I stayed until some of the lights came on.  Interesting photos to be had at that hour.

Love these reflections.

I'm with you on breaking the rules. For the most part I do stick with the rules. But when it comes to doing something that is outside of the rules I don't hesitate one bit. These blogs do belong to us after all.

Hi, Virgina. Really like the reflection photos you posted today. 9 times out of 10 I only post one, too, but occasionally do two, like I did yesterday. I don't think that's a sin! ---By the way, today I posted a "big" photo following the instructions you sent me. I see that the frame didn't show on one side, like someone had pointed out on yours, but it's okay on this photo; nothing or very little if anything was cut off. Let's see what happens with a people scene or something.

I like reflections too. You get two worlds in one shot! The light in that first one is my favorite.

Diederick, You are back from Wine Paradise? Now we get to see it through your lens I hope.

Bibi, I gave up. The tech side of all this makes my head spin! let me know how it goes.

JM and E. - My fav too. I was walking out the front gate and spotted it. Made the trip worthwhile.

Virg - you've done it again - those are stunning & compelling shots. I can just see those blown up on canvases in fancy contemporary homes in the Hamptons!!!

OMG! It takes a pair of a seasoned photographer's eyes to "see" these, V! I like them!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you, V. (again). May this year brings you a lot of joy and happiness.

YOu just keep on breaking rules, girl. We benefit from your madcap ways!

These are phenomenal shots, V. I love reflection photos in general, and I've tried a few myself, but you really nailed it with these. Beautiful!!!

What a great idea--a puddle walk! These are all enjoyable to view.

All beautiful. I so like your photographer's eye, Virginia. These reflections and that soft light, especially in the 2nd and 3rd - so lovely.

You post the smaller photos anyway, so I'd not worry about rules. I post a larger size but sometimes with a smaller ones tucked underneath.

Oooo, nice reflections! I don't think anyone will mind three photos. If they do I'll lead the uprising. I like the sound of that! As long as someone else brings some food along...

Good, we now have the leader of the uprising taken care of! Thanks Marley!

I've had a few nibbles on the 100 Strangers idea. The more the merrier. Be sure to share with the rest of us!

D. It's ok to call me a rebel but just don't go calling me a "Maverick!!!!"

I'm all for a rebellion. I will lead the charge naturally. Absolute stunner first shot. Reminds me of my sun in a puddle mimicking moonlight shot. Huge congratulations on the the 200th post. Keep up the good work with sets of images like this.
