Recently I was fortunate to meet Birmingham artist Lonnie Holley. I was thrilled that he allowed me to capture his interesting hands while he was doing a demonstration at Lite Box Gallery at the Pepper Place.NOTE: Our friend Amir at Tehran Daily Photo is posting photos again!

I remembered him before I clicked the backlink. It was the paint splashed hands I recalled. He's got to be right handed.

Actually the paint splashed hands were Java Lewis' way back in October I think. Lonnie carves sandstone, paints and does some very interesting scupture with found objects. I have another post that will go up soon.

Hands are very interesting...I don't know if different types of hands have different meaning...but I know strong hands...and these are strong!

What a neat idea for a photo series...artist's hands. This is a good hand portrait! Yeah, I saw Lonnie's work at the Folk Art Gallery. I especially liked his sandstone sculptures.
