Nervous As A Cat.....

on a porch full of rockers!

Last week I  visited The Commissary on Overton Road for the first time.  They had a terrific selection of gifts, furniture and artwork , but the building and the porch were a photographer's delight. I'm not a cat person but this stray cat, that the owner told us had just made herself at home in their rockers, was too good to pass up.  The porch was chock full of wonderful things from the great color on the concrete steps,  to the fabulous chair that I managed to sneak in for my Chair Series!

My thanks to Wildeve for this thoughtful award.  I pass it on to my friend FireLight at The Keeping Room.  Oh how I wish I had her writer's gift.  Her wondrous words move me to tears, smiles, and so much more.  I am so grateful for her friendship.

First of all, have I commented on your peonies? I think I have, but they literally take my breath away. So gorgeous.

I would love to browse this shop and sit on the front porch. Bibi promises to leave kitty alone.

Back again. Forgot to say that a peony is called a 'bozur' here, pronounced 'beau jour'! In French though, it would be a 'pivoine.'

How idyllic. I could do with one of those rockers but goodness knows what fun the dogs would have wrecking it!

Bibi commented on your wonderful peony header on Menton DP today. She's right! You'll find another peony in Nathalie's photo today - on Menton DP plus something for you to drink, Virginia.

I always thought I wasn't a cat person until I started meeting cats I liked. Our stable always has a few free spirits roaming around.

Virginia, your peonies are definitely works of art!
I am very humbled by an award from such a talented person as you. I must give you credit for encouraging me. The photos I did of my neighbor's garden surprised me! Her garden is the next best thing to Birmingham Botanical!
I can't wait to see what you send us from Paris!!!

De rien!!! :) Your blog is a delight, especially for a non writer like myself. I'm in awe.

Jilly,
Actually I had a glass at your place and then Chuckeroon had more so I helped myself to another violette sparkler at his place. A great way to kick off the day!HA I love seeing everyone's photos from your blog gathering. Peter and I will maybe work a deal to do some sharing of photos as well. ( YOu have to watch Peter you know. He's good at "borrowing" photos for his blog! HA) We're still working on our "guest list"! The more the merrier.

V, I just noticed your white cat has the perfect tail for hanging around rocking chairs! I like the porch scene.

Ginger, your friend has a lovely blog. Thanks for the tip. Stop by my place for Petrea gone wild.

FireLight,
HAR! The shortened tail may be evidence of prior close encounters with rockers! I never noticed that. I rest my case....... I'm not a cat person.

That tail says that Kitty definitely had a bad moment. The enlargement shows she's having a flash-back. Nice rockers, Virg.

V,

Everyone of your headers has been gorgeous - just when I think it can't get better - it does! Now you know me - I'd love to have this kitty to go with my black one that always keeps me compnay at night when I am checking your blog. They'd be a great pair.

Back again......have you stopped and read the sign in the second picture? I LOVE it! Check it out. Can you get a picture of the entire sign? Oh my - did I just place an order? It's wonderful.

The sign is hysterical. I loved the colors. I'll see if I can find a better shot of it. When I return to reshoot this neat chandalier made of forks and spoons, I take one Judy.

Halcyon. Let me look for you.

That should be one scare-dy cat!
