Stranger # 96
Strangers # 97 & 98
A few weeks ago we paid another visit to the
Peanut Depot here. Well while I was there, I met these nice ladies, who had stopped by to stock up on a BIG sack of peanuts. They were nice enough to pose on their cycles before they roared off down the cobblestoned Morris Avenue. Inside, this very friendly employee let me photograph him as well. My Strangers # 96, 97, and 98. We're almost there!!

Nice portraits, both, V. So why stop at 100 now that you've gotten warmed up?
Nice light on the peanut vendor.
Whoa, that's some serious cycle under those two! And the peanut vendor's portrait in sunshine and shadow is very nice. His earring is missing!

Nice portraits with colors and compositions that I like.
Nice, nice!! What a pair of cute, 'nutty' ladies!
My goodness, those are some ladies on those amazing bikes. Great portrait in that first shot. Light is beautiful.
Goober Bikers?! Biker Goobers? ;-)
le premier portrait est magnifique, j'adore la lumiere sur son visage....Bravo
Love the lighting on that first one! I hope you're not going to give up on 100 Strangers once you hit 100...
Boiled peanuts! Definitely a Southern thing.
I couldn't say it any better than Janet.
What a face .. what a smile .. it lights up the screen ..
Looks like some really serious peanut aficionados!
Man, I haven't been doing this stranger's project lately. Classic portrait, love their bikes. I'm even more anxious for spring, now!
I am no good at meeting people or asking to take their picture. With my name and standing in front of new school classes and having to tell who I am and then listening to the rush of snickers and laughter, it has forever freaked me out. I never thought I could be a school teacher or lecture at colleges but did both.
I love your pictures in this post.

I love these faces of America. Thank you.
Aloha, Friend!

Now Abe Lincoln, don't you dare try to convince me that you can't talk to a stranger. Not buying it. :)

Thanks everyone. I am seriously thinkinga about what comes when # 100 goes up. Actually I think I have over that number in "the can". We'll see. It's been a very fun project pour moi. You all should give it a go.
You meet a lot of really nice people.

I am quite impressed with you '100 strangers' shutterbugs. I never remember to ask the names of the people I talk to. Thanks for the bday wishes. I never thought I would make it thru a year.
Wow, you are so close! But, you will continue after 100 right?
HA! I didn't realize they were ladies until I read your description. :-)
Just found this and I think it's very clever! I have a dear friend in Birmingham. I've sent the link to her and told her to step in front of the camera and wave if she sees you. :)
I have camellias blooming outside my bedroom window. I hope they're bracing for the "wintry mix" we're about to get here in NC. You, too?
Wonderful portraits - I especially like the "women on wheels"!

Merrily,
Oh I hope I see your friend one day.!
Maya,
You know I won't quit. My 100 French Strangers is past the halfway mark now. I love that as well. Street portraits remains ONE of my loves! ;)
The vendor portrait is just GREAT. The light, the face , the frame ... you are such an artist Virginia.
I want to join the stranger challenge. Can you tell me more about it? I feel excited all ready! LOVE your images!
