Hope for Spring

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, for Christians around the world. As I was leaving the Service of Communion at my church, I spotted a few Lenten Roses that had started blooming, despite the cold and snow we've had in recent weeks. What a wonderful reminder that spring is on its way. (I apologize to the pansies I stepped all over trying to get a few shots!)

I am pleased to announce that one of Birmingham's newest magazines, B-Metro, will be regularly featuring some of my Birmingham photos on their website. I featured them here, and they featured me here!

A beautiful shot of a gorgeous flower. I've tried growing them here with no success.

Well done indeed and well deserved - your success in being featured on B-Metro. Bravo!

Love the new header! A stunner.

I will keep my eyes out this weekend for some early bloomers. Haven't seen much around here lately but white and brown though.

Thanks everyone. Ever try to photograph a Lenten Rose without an assistant? They grow with their heads bowed. I had to try and hold it up with one hand and shoot with other!

Holy cow! I know a celebrity! The photo is a wonderful harbinger of spring, but it is so nice that you have been recognized for your photography (and I think, also, for your community activities)!
