Impulsivity

Oh this happens all the time down here in the "Deep South". A few weeks ago we had over a week of below freezing temps. Then last week some really nice days, where a sweater or light jacket sufficed. This one always jumps the gun at the first hint of spring. I guess if this shrub were in a classroom, he/she'd be the ADHD kid and you'd be having a chat with his Momma about a little Ritalin. Well right now it's just blooming to beat the band. You know, we need some hope of spring around this place. How is it in your neck of the woods??

Gray and wet here on the part of the Left Coast inhabited by «Louis» - but with three years of drought, we need wet...

Oh, to think this is happening, this profusion of blossoms, somewhere in the US. Here in New England such a scene is a distant dream. Thank you for keeping the dream alive. If this is a candidate for ritalin I think I'll lay in a stock and send out invitations to all the hyperactive shrubs in the country.

It's not exactly balmy here so don't think I'm digging out the bikini!

Forsythia makes me so happy. Thanks for sharing!

We know all about ADHD kids and Ritalin. We often thanked our lucky stars for Ritalin!

So far as spring goes...for the past couple of days it has been dark with rain (sometimes coming down in buckets) and just plain gloomy.

But the rain brings back the plants and the grass...so if we get some warm sunshine, everything will be bursting and budding.

Oh how lovely. Winter jasmine I think? We have that here too although mine hasn't even started yet - we had snow - right down to the beach on Sunday - unheard of! It didn't settle tho. Love your shot and how beautifully it blends with your lovely header.

It's just high spirited!

A little south of my house, the stone fruit trees are starting to bud out.

I'm going to guess that this is Forsythia which I love. I wasn't familiar with this plant until I lived in Boston -- it doesn't do too well in Charleston, although people do give it a try.

We had rain most of the night; overcast 60 degrees this morning.

I've been in Hawaii, so all I can remember is warm times!

Harriet,
It's not forsythia, not as upright. I have no idea what it's called.

Halcyon
You take some great trips. Warm! Ahhhh

Are these the flowers that hang over the playground at school? They look too familiar! I was trying to figure out if that was the gate at the top of the wall...

Help my curiousity! or Confirm it I guess!

Nah, we just got browns and grays. When something pops up, I'll probably be the last to notice. Don't flowers come from florist shops?

Paula,
Freaky. We've had some Feb/Mar snowfalls here so we could still have bad weather. Who knows. I do like this little bit of sunny yellow. There's one on my alley that's blooming too.

Very pretty. It might be a form of Monkey Flower bush, at least the leaves and branches remind me of that, and the flowers are the right color. . .

When you DO dig out the bikini, let us know ;^). I hear the groundhog saw his shadow and winter will keep on for 6 weeks. We've had a really mild "El Nino" winter here (imagine a tilde over that n). But, the last time we had one of those we had a snowy day in April! We'll see. So far, fairly warm and no snow since last winter. . .you've had it far worse than us out here this season. The crocus are up in my garden and the rhododendron have buds. My neighbor's cherry tree is starting to blossom. Thanks for the cheery yellow today!

4 inches of snow and partly cloudy 12 degrees, -11 C. Nevermind that blasted groundhog and his Peter Pan-like shadow, spring will arrive in 7-1/2 months from now.
