If you're puzzled by my title, let me explain. I suspect that many of you envision Alabama as one great big field of something or other and all of us country folks are just stomping around barefoot in said field. Not so much. s a matter of fact, I've never seen cotton growing in a field except from a car speeding past it on the highway. Always wanted to get up close and have a look, but never have. Well imagine my surprise last week while strolling the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Shazam!!! Cotton growing right there. Here you go. I came, I saw, I photographed and kept my shoes on.
A tune for you today!

une belle photo, tout en douceur
Ha! That's funny....travelling to the botanical gardens to see cotton. Wonderful capture. Actually, I've never seen cotton on the stem either. Do you visit your BBG regularly?
I presume you will next be telling me you don't have a dog named Bo or drive a pick-up?
I suspected all along that you, in particular, had a very close relationship with your footwear, V. This is an excellent shot. You've captured the texture of the cotton beautifully.
Wow! What a cool picture. Is this "button-down" cotton for making the shirts, by any chance?
I was trying so hard to come up with a Southern hillbilly joke, I think I strained something.
I was wondering ... I cotton to this shot a lot
wow, long gone, along with the american textile industry
Good. No boll weevils burrowing into your soles. And here I thought cotton came from sweatshops in China.
l'automne arrive avec ces belles couleurs
Why is it I see you playing Eva Gabor's part in the up and coming remake of Green Acres???
