I wandered up into the attic of On a Shoestringand found a treasure trove of items from days gone by. The attic window illuminated this lovely handsewn blouse.
Beautiful. This makes me think of the times when women made all their own clothes. So much time and art went into the tucks and lace. I wonder whose hands made this and where she wore it.
Those stitches, tucks and pleats make me sad that so few people find the time to make wearable art anymore...because that is what that blouse is...I bet the original owner just thought of it as a necessary part of her wardrobe. Beautiful find. Your photo would look lovely framed and hung in a bedroom or bathroom.

Oh .. I love old gently worn clothing but alas I am too big boned for such things and they never fit ... :-(
Kinda spooky!

Thanks everyone. I agree that this is an art form that not many can replicate today. Nice that maybe it will find another good home.

Damn, that's good light. I'm in love.
That seems so very Southern to me.
Life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quickly you hardly catch it going.
