The Pepper Place Spring Market opened this weekend and as you can see, folks were loading up on bedding plants and eager to get their gardens going. I bought a few herbs to plant myself!
The plants must just love all the sunshine! In Scotland the selection you'e shown would probably only flourish under glass, usually summer weather is too unpredictable.......but we are ever optimistic!
We just had a pretty good storm...snow that is...but the sun's out and the snow's melting fast...definitely sooner than last year will be growing season up here!!!
I have lived in Birmingham most of my life. I think it's a beautiful, friendly, and interesting place to live. I hope that my daily photographs portray the diversity of my hometown in a positive and artistic way.
I am a former elementary school teacher, a full-time photographer, part-time painter, lover of all things French ( whose français is slowly improving), obsessive Paris traveler, enthusiastic art museum volunteer, grateful community volunteer, and grandmother to 5 delightful grandchildren.

This is still a bit off for us, but I'm getting itchy fingers.
That's what I should be doing but the weather just isn't that enticing...
Too much wind, too much rain to get started... Good luck with your herbs!

The traditional planting season doesn't begin here until after May 24 which is a holiday for us - Queen Victoria's birthday.
