The old Quick and Split Bar B Q place has new owners and the line's out the door at lunchtime. We are happy to see Saw's Bar B Que in the Avondale neighborhood. I ate there last week and it was great!
This could be a postcard of an old favorite place that was torn down years ago. Ever see the "reality" TV show about Sweetie Pie's soul food restaurant? It's here in STL, two blocks from my daughter's house. Yum.
I have lived in Birmingham most of my life. I think it's a beautiful, friendly, and interesting place to live. I hope that my daily photographs portray the diversity of my hometown in a positive and artistic way.
I am a former elementary school teacher, a full-time photographer, part-time painter, lover of all things French ( whose français is slowly improving), obsessive Paris traveler, enthusiastic art museum volunteer, grateful community volunteer, and grandmother to 5 delightful grandchildren.
