Birmingham Rouge - Vintage Peanut Roaster

I love the Peanut Depot on Morris Avenue downtown. It's like stepping back in time. They have been roasting peanuts since 1907.  This beauty caught my eye of course!

Hi Virginia, that's something isn't it? I've only recently got myself into peanut butter and love it :)

Beautiful thing of the past. Still in use I believe by the flexible cable that didn't belong there when it was made. But modernizing without disturbing the beauty is of course okay.

Being rouge and all, of course it caught your eye. I like that these old machines have such pretty ornamental flourishes.

A delicious snack... but messy. Reminds me spring training is coming soon. Go Sox!

Pretty cool. Is that an outlet chute at the bottom? Can I lie underneath it with my mouth open?
