CDP Theme Day - The Beauty of Decay

Granted, this fading magnolia blossom is more beauty than decay, but may I add, still smelling divine although she's aging.

Today, the first of the month, my City Daily Photobloggers around the world are posting their images of The Beauty of Decay.  Please click HERE to see them all!

Every flower does reach its end...

Good choice for the theme!

Our magnolias are just starting to bloom. Aren't they lovely?

Our Magnolias here have peaked and are now fading a bit. Nice photo.

Even though your magnolia is almost no longer, it still looks beautiful.

Virginia, you’ve made a great Theme Day post. I can just smell that blossom, honey. Thanks!

You are right, it is still beautiful. For some reason that old Helen Reddy song "Delta Dawn" popped into my head when I saw this photo.

we have one in our front yard and I always look at the last few blossoms and say too my self, "Until next next season" Plus oh I should really rake up those leaves when they fall.
Great post..

All things must pass. No exceptions. If we are mindful we can enjoy the good that's before us in the present.

A fine selection, Virginia. I hope to smell good as I age, too.

Even though your magnolia blossom has seen better days, oh, wow Virginia, send some of that gorgeous green out this way.

I love magnolias every spring and a beauty of a capture! They seem even more precious in their decay because they just don't last long enough:)

Great flowers, smell wonderfully, unfortunately, decay is a natural process that can't be avoid....

These magnolias make great subjects - even after the petals have fallen off. Great shot for the theme.

Love magnolias!!! When I was a kid, we had a neighbor who had a beautiful magnolia tree in their back yard...the house was torn down when they finally moved away long after I was off on my own...something tells me that the tree was taken out then too...to be replaced by a big, ugly modern house...

I do love those magnolias. Decay is sad.

They are so short lived...I watched so many come and go in a lovely week at Seaside..they were all around the house...I could study them up close from the balconies...and the fragrance was heavenly!
