Today, with any luck at all, Karen, Peter and I will be in Jardins des Tuilieries, sitting in the chairs below, sipping a little of the above. La vie est tres bonne!
Top photo: Highlands Bar and Grill on Birmingham's southside. This is the flagship restaurant of Chef Frank Stitt. When you come to Birmingham, you must eat here. Mary, next time we will!

My friend D.C. Confidential has graciously consented to blogsit for me while I'm gone. Should Blogger send the gremlins out, she will fix it right up. You just never know. Thanks, J.!
I am in Paris this week. I am preposting my blog entries. Each day I am including a photo from my trip to Paris in March 2007 , in addition to my Birmingham photo. I may from time to time leave a comment from Paris. Thanks for stopping by!
The Tune du Jour is on the sidebar this week. Enjoy!

Great! I'm sure you are glad to have gotten there!
I liked the second picture! It conveys a sense of ease!
Cheers
The bottle is in the fridge!
I'm with you in spirit. Lovely photos!
Well at this very moment it's 9:50 a.m. Paris time. So I am imagining you deplaning with a really big smile on your face!!
Have fun.
Is that chair for me? Odd isn't it ususlly you are 4-5 hours behind me, now you are on Paris time and an hour in front. Now don't start that wine without me. Hope you are enjoying all.
Hello Virginia !
Découvre bien Paris, et profites-en...
A bientôt !
No wonder you found your suitcase too small!! Those bottles must have taken a lot of space!!!
"A votre sante" "Cheers"
I love those chairs!
Great places to sit! Enjoy!
stopping in to say belated bon voyage - I hope you have a wonderful time in Paris! Can't wait to see your new photos!
Wow, this week is going to be like a double-retrospective for me. I remember seeing those champagne bottles last week and have such fond memories of having dessert at the sister restaurant next door, Chez Fonfon. According to the Paris webcams it looks like a decent first day...hugs all around!
xx,
M
Have a drink for me :)
Hope you enjoy the day and the wine. Hope the weather stays nice for you.
I'm 28 days behind you.
I'm pleased to report the blog is behaving well. Intelligence sources indicate rumors of a party later this week, but I am squashing that rumor with my superior blogging skills. There will be no unchaperoned parties on my watch!
Beautiful photos today. Can't wait to see the rest! (Well, okay, I could cheat and peek early, having blogsitting privileges and all. But I won't.) :-)

I'm having fun already. I've never been to Birmingham and I've only been to Paris once, but this view of the Tuileries is one I know and love.
Hi Mums,
Hope you all made it safely. When you get to Montparnasse cemetery say hello to Serge Gainsbourg for me! Is the weather okay? What yummy food have you eaten? Everyone here is fine, right now Davis is vacuuming with his Batman mask on! Nothing like cleaning up incognito.
Try to go to Isle St. Louis, we did not make it last time. Also the famous Pain Polaine bakery!
xo,
Melissa
I'm imagining you relaxing with a glass of wine right now! Take a million pictures, Virginia! We all wish we were with you!
I love the twin cities photos. Hope you're having fun!
have a good week in Paris . I like very much the two chairs waiting for tired walkers.
Welcome bienvenue en France!!!
I'm guessing its the biggest bottle that you'll be drinking!
Hope D.C keeps things in order ;)
Je vous souhaite un temps joyeux à Paris
Have a great time and a safe journey!
Are we there yet?
