Dia de los Muertos Festival

First it's a photo shoot at Oak Hill Cemetery, now I am having a ball at the Day of the Dead Festival!  I guess the Cemetery in Montmartre is next.  Meanwhile this was my first time to attend this wonderful event , and I'm so glad I did.  Bare Hands Gallery on Richard Arrington Blvd. South, hosted this 6th Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival . The festivities started at 1:00 and lasted into the night. Oh my, it's an eyeful!!!  I took about 100 photos in a very short time. One day's post is NOT going to get the job done.  I couldn't begin to capture it all or choose the one or two I really want you to see.  To quote Strangetastes, " A photographer's buffet." Consider today's offerings your appetizer!

Top Photo:  Isn't she fabulous?  I couldn't stop snapping photos of her.  There were many folks young and old dressed as skeletons and other spirits.
Bottom Photo:  One of the many shrines for the dearly departed.

I'm pleased you're finally heeding my advice Virginia. Tractors or cleavage, you can't go wrong.

This woman is absolutely devilish and very beautiful

Spoooky! Love these two photos. I hope you won't run into the likes of her in Paris...just ghosts of the cultural elite in Montmartre and/or Pere Lachaise, for example. Baudelaire lies in the latter, and is my favorite French poet.

There are special people all over the world.

I am just glad that birds don't shave or wear clothes.

What a woman. She certainly has entered into the spirit of things. Very disappointed with the turn out here. No manx festive spirt at all I have had a rant today. Are we still counting strangers. I think this lady conuts as several.

Congratulations on your award. It was well deserved.

What an interesting photo. I love the flowers in her hair and the necklace. :-) The rest is a little scary.

N.B.: Can't vote. I'm what they called a resident alien.

You didn't give your camera to someone else while you posed, did you? However (and with no bias whatsoever) my favorite Halloween costume blog post is from Chicago Flair.

Those photos are wonderful, VJ! I especially like the first one. Like you, I probably would have taken dozens of photos of her alone. Looks like you had a fun day!
