Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

We're back at Ted's Garage today.  This place was just too full of wonderful photo ops for just one post.  Today, another taste of the snazzy old cars and vintage atmosphere .  Who knows, we could come back again if you'd like.  I have a trunk full of photos left!

Yes, Ted did drive this one from Peking to Paris!

PURE nostalgia

These are beauties, Virginia! Can hardly post enough of these classics. Used to own a '50 Ford convertible and I did drive it to Paris....Texas, that is.
Yep, you're right - pure nostalgia.

V, Love this - the first new car I remember my folks having was a 1949 Ford. Pure nostalgia is right! Great pics for sure. Take us back any time....please.

The middle photo looks like a 1949 Ford. Maybe a fifty. I rode around in one of them a lot with a friend trying to pick up girls. LOL

Most people were riding around in the cars that looked like the bottom photo except they were always painted black. I never saw a blue one.

Omigod, a McLaren CanAm car! I met Bruce in NZ in the late 60s and later (after his death) got an invite to the factory when it was still right next to Heathrow.
This is CHOICE.

The blue color does not seem original though. Was there such a color at that time?

shiny and voluptuous, just as an auto should be.
Peking to Paris? I'll bet he had a sore behind

Wow! Those photos take me back. My first care was a l937 Chevrolet; lowered the back end, dual exhausts, fender skirts, really cool!

Thanks for the wonderful photos.

It sounds like Ted came in second in the race too.

They are so shinny we can see you taking the picture!!!
That Prince Borghese must have been an interesting fellow to stop a race to attend a Gala dinner!!!

I'm really not into cars either old or new but I must say your photos are great! I loved your portrait of Kate - I followed the link to her website and really enjoyed her work. There's both joy and talent there. Congratulations!

Cars aren't really my thing but your lovely photos might convince me. Now Peking to Paris...I'd enjoy that.

These vintage cars are so ornate and beautiful. I love the details they put on the cars, especially the lights. They look almost like a face.

Oh, thank you Virg! I could do that, I really could. I wouldn't win, but I'd survive.

Photos that make you long for the good ole days when cars were cars and the journey was part of the fun!

V. these are truly great photos of great classics. (I was checking if the male bloggers left more comments on this one - but it seems pretty even.)
