At the Grotto

The Vatican in miniature

I'm back! Not from Paris but back on the blog for a few days. After that, my friend Jean Reed is at bat. Thanks to Doug Stocks for sharing his photographs with us this past week.

In April, when bloggers Janet and Maya were visiting you'll remember we took a little field trip north to Cullman, Al to visit the Ave Maria Grotto. Known throughout the world as "Jerusalem in Miniature," it is a beautifully landscaped, four-acre park. It's a peaceful setting for the 125 miniature reproductions of some of the most famous historic buildings and shrines of the world crafted by Brother Joseph Zoettl, a Benedictine monk at St. Bernard Abbey.

It must be an amazing place to visit..
This monk was very handy!
Thanks for the beautiful Angel in the midst of the cherry trees in bloom, a perfect image on a Sunday.

Mini monuments! Very cool. I'm liking the photo of the angel.

Doug was a great choice for last week, he has a good eye for a photograph :)

I would know that building anywhere. Great idea to use sepia (you nailed it mon cher), I hadn't thought of that. I'm going to have to look back through mine....
