A Quiet Courtyard Downtown

This quiet little courtyard on Second Avenue North in downtown Birmingham was created in memory of Ronnie Noojin, a Birmingham attorney and past president of the Birmingham Bar Foundation. Ronnie was loved and admired by many. What a lovely tribute to him.

Gee, that's nice. I often see benches around Seattle when I am there that are named for people. I may be egotistical, just a teeny, but it would be nice to have something named for me....or Bibi. Ha.

Yes, that's lovely. I like calm places like this that aren't trodden by the masses.

Wouldn't it be glorious to create gardens and quiet green spaces for all the people we look up to, love, admire? The world would be transformed.

Looks like a great place to "escape" the city, if only for a moment.

That really is a lovely way to remember somebody. I pass a cemetery each day and was thinking recently about how much life is packed into that little dash between the birth and death dates. Even very famous people who may have contributed a lot to society only get about a minute or two announcement on the news when they pass away. It is so nice of folks in the community to honor the memory of someone in this tangible way, creating a space for all to enjoy and to stop by and wonder, "Who was that guy and what was he all about?"
