We spent time in Auburn with friends at Willow Creek. At our age, most of my friends run when I take out my camera, so I have to sneak up on them. We've been friends for many years. A special day.
Love the photo. That is always a strange reflex of people to run when you want to make a picture. So many people feel not at ease in front of a camera.
I have been following your blog for about 2 years now. I am a native of Auburn and was living in the suburbs of Paris when I discovered you. We have moved back to the States now and I continue to enjoy your beautiful pictures of Paris (and Birmingham). Imagine my surprise when I see this picture taken in Willow Creek, the neighborhood where I grew up and my parents still live today! We sure do have a lot in common, including a love of the Auburn Tigers and the City of Lights. Thank you for all your time and effort to keep us entertained with your gift of photography.
I have lived in Birmingham most of my life. I think it's a beautiful, friendly, and interesting place to live. I hope that my daily photographs portray the diversity of my hometown in a positive and artistic way.
I am a former elementary school teacher, a full-time photographer, part-time painter, lover of all things French ( whose français is slowly improving), obsessive Paris traveler, enthusiastic art museum volunteer, grateful community volunteer, and grandmother to 5 delightful grandchildren.

my friends roll their eyes. this is a good sneak attack. i can imagine what a wonderful day it was.
I sooooo relate!!! It's not being in front of a camera...it's seeing the result!!! I much prefer my earlier pics!!!
This is a great shot...definitely captures the ease of good friends getting together...
Okay, this looks way too much like one of those TV Cialis ads.
quality pump
Nice one! Its a great shot even if a stolen one. Job well done. You can even be a paparazzi with your stealth. Ayt?
Looking back, I always like this type of more candid shot best anyway. I'm sure your friends will love this caught in the moment shot.
