Welcome to Birmingham Through My Lens. Today is the first post and I hope you will stop by often. This blog was previously Birmingham Alabama Daily Photo but on January 2, after almost 8 years as a City Daily Photo blog I made the decision to stop in order to give myself time to pursue new directions in my photography.
I've been waiting to find just the right image for DAY 1, and last night at the grand reopening of the historic 102 year old Lyric Theatre, the curtain opened to this. Cleve Eaton was just one of the many performers in the talent packed vaudeville show. Cleve has played with Ramsey Lewis and Count Basie and to quote the program, "He has become a consummate bassist, producer, composer, publisher, arranger and head of his own recording company."

Awesome shot! Good luck with your new endeavor!
Beautiful photo, Virginia. I more than understand your change of direction and know it will be, indeed IS, a great success. xxx
You're off to a good start, Virginia!
Great jazz shot. In early days the theater was really blue of the smoke but today it must be something else. I hope its not dust from the last years.
And you're off! I look forward to following this new artistic endeavor of yours.
Gasp! This is a tough act to follow. (Yours AND his) Bravo!
Congratulations. And what a great start to your new venture. I love the "through my lens" title anyway. This is terrific.
Quite a dramatic shot for a new beginning, Virginia!

Great shot Virg‼️ You're having too much fun.
OMG. A triangle of pure art, in performance and represented. I must say that horizontal bar in the foreground makes this perfect.
Wonderful Picture of a Magical Evening!
What they all said.
