If I want to find some terrific old and new flags, I head down Hwy. 208 to Harpersville to visit my friend Barbara Adkins at Black Sheep Antiques. She carries a wonderful collection of vintage flags and her shop is always decked out year round.

You're A Grand Ole Flag!
This Americana vignette was too good to pass up for the Fourth of July. Barbara Adkins' Black Sheep Antiques in Harpersville always had vintage flags.

Memorial Day - Alabama's National Cemetery
Alabama's National Cemetery, just south of Birmingham in Montevallo, was begun in 2009. For this Memorial Day 2,100 flags were placed here by volunteers. A beautiful resting place for our veterans.

A Flag Waving Day!
Americans have exercised their right to vote and gone to the polls and let their voices be heard!
“I met those of our society who had votes in the ensuing election, and advised them, 1. To vote, without fee or reward, for the person they judged most worthy: 2. To speak no evil of the person they voted against: And, 3. To take care their spirits were not sharpened against those that voted on the other side.” -John Wesley, 1774
