Glorious Golden Leaves

Go ahead, I know what you're thinking, "Shameless self promotion of grandchildren again."  Actually I was going to run the nice photo below that I took at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens the other day. The trees around here are virtually begging to be photographed.  Then this afternoon , Laura Kate and I took a spin through the gardens for a little diversion, and I grabbed a few snaps of her in exactly the same spot,  before she put her foot down!  (When that happens, it's time to move on.)  So which would YOU put on the portal....L.K. or the tree/gate shot??? That's what I thought.  Now I have cleared my Daily Photo conscience.

There are two Tunes du Jour today.  The first is "Will and Anna" from NottinghillThe second is a song I found a while back and have held onto until the election. It will bring a chuckle no matter who you voted for.  "Dear Mr. President" by Randy Newman from Forest Gump.

PARIS COUNTDOWN....10 DAYS!

Virginia - By all means - have a clear conscience because OF COURSE you chose the correct LARGE one - but I love that you gave us the little one so we could see the additional beauty of where you were with the little beauty! Thank you for sharing both! TEN DAYS! Yippee - time will be here before you know it! Lucky you!

le portrait est superbe, comment ne pas craquer devant ce jolie sourire (un peu tendu, mais pas facile d'être devant l'objectif ;o) ). J'aime ce portait, avec derrière les couleurs de l'automne.

the picture is superb, how not to crack it pretty smile (a little tense, but not easy to be in front of the camera ;o)). I wore this, with behind the colors of autumn.

Laura Kate is a new leaf in your family, so both photos are suitable!!! Beautiful leaves and little girl.

I'm happy you chose this one! Lovely smile, lovely little girl...

I HAVE to have this one!!!! I thought when you told me you may put her on here, you were going for a shot of the dress I made she was wearing! Silly me, that girl outshines any dress you put on her! The tree in the background reminds me of our first family Christmas card with Lindley at Botanical Gardens sitting in the leaves with her hands above her head! I guess you don't have time for a card shoot before Paris?-Kat

Your cute little girls deserve every photo on the portal! :-)
The garden shot is also awesome. Beautiful autumn atmosphere!

Well, I'm partial to the first one myself. The second one is lovely, too, but the look in your granddaughter's eye and that smile framed by the yellow leaves is a gorgeous portrait.

Good choice!

She is a beauty bringing life to the scenery, even without putting her foot down!!

Kat, I went yesterday just to check that ginko tree. It's not quite yellow yet. Maybe by this weekend we can do it there.

Both photos are lovely. But I agree, who could resist those eyes and that smile? I'm sure you'll miss them while you're out and about in Paris. They'll probably miss you too! :)

Great shot of the forest trail, V.

Pack your rain coat if you're coming in this direction...oh, and sun glasses won't be needed either!

Virginia said...

Roon,
Now don't you know the rains will stop and the sun will come out the moment my feet touch French soil!HA I can always hope!!!!

A cutie pie, no doubt about it.

What the picture really needed though was the addition of a couple of kittens and a puppy.

Now I have to go and get a name change and move to another country.

Frame this one!

Her golden smile, hair, and complexion are definitely more beautiful than the background autumn beauty. I agree with Rambling Round. YOu should frame it.

Virginia said...

Wayne,
You left out tractors and cleavage. You're slipping. The Witness Protection Program wont' be needed just yet.

The photo of your grand daughter is spectacular. It's like a portrait study by an artist. Wait...you ARE an artist.
