Les Trois Bouteilles

These antique seltzer bottles are from Architectural Heritage.  Another one of those things that I have had a go at photographing many, many, many times. Plastic, screw-top seltzer bottles just don't do it for me like these do!

Bottom Photo: Arc de Triomphe in the rain.

Update!  Today is our last day in Paris.  We are heading off to the Louvre and then to the Musee Rodin!  A little snow is predicted and that would be a photographer's godsend if I ever saw one!!!   It has been a wonderful week!  Paris photos will be forthcoming and I will have to figure out the new blog thing. The long flight home will give me time to plan.  D.C. , tell my blog to get the house all cleaned up for my arrival.  Will there be champagne? I am quite used to that now you know.

I am in Paris this week.  My photos have been preposted.  In addition to the Birmingham photo each day, I am including a Paris photo from my last visit in March, 2007.  Thanks for stopping by.

I know seltzer bottles are ubiquitous in Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy movies. I've never seen one used in real life.

One fond memory of my trips to Paris is coming up the escalator from L'etoile Metro at night and being confronted by the enormity of the L'Arc de Triomphe all lit up.

Oh, Virginia, I feel your pain.. this week must have flown by way too quickly. My friend in London thinks that 20 days in Paris is too much. I think it won't be nearly enough.. we shall see.

I would like to see a light frosting of snow for just a day while I'm there but would like the rest of the time to be warmer.. but I will take what I get.

Have a safe trip home.

V, it sounds like you've made the rounds. If you're like me you'll have more photos than you know what to do with. My thoughts and prayers go with you in the editing process! ;~D

Both of these are beautiful photos, but I especially like the seltzer bottles.

Speaking of seltzer, isn't that what you use to get red wine stains out? Seems the blog imbibed a little too much cabernet sauvignon last night and spilled some on the carpet. As penance, I'm making it clean all the bathrooms, but I'll get the rest of the house. Other than that one little mishap, the blog has been very good.

Oh, and most of the neighbors liked the cupcake and lemonade stand, but that one guy who lives across the street? He was sort of a curmudgeon and insisted we needed a permit from the city. He soon shut up though when he tasted our red velvet and buttercream frosting cupcakes.

Champagne is chilling in the fridge. Truffles are on a plate next to your bed. Enjoy!

Bon voyage!

Thank you all. It is bittersweet coming home but I have wonderful memories and photos to last a long, long time. I promise to only share a precious few and leave you all wanting to experience Paris on your own. You have been wonderful travel companions. Karen says she appreciates getting to be along with all my blogger friends as well .
Hugs,
V

PS DC, Tell my blog the house better be all cleaned up when I arrive. Could you have the fridge stocked with champagne?? I am a tad use to that now you know. The next trip might just be a big ole trip to NYC to see our CDP friends up there and you are going with me right? We'll find blogsitter for both of us. You did a great job, the check's in the mail.

Wow, hard to believe your trip is ending. I'm sure you packed in at least a month's-worth of activities! Hope your trip home is uneventful and short, and that the champagne is nicely chilled for your return! Can't wait to see your photos and hear tales.

But where are the content of the bottles? Drnkies. They are cute an indicative of the area. As for the Arc, it's always a welcome sight.

I hope D.C does get across the country and meet you with the champagne!

wonderful photo.
I love that there are no leaves on the trees, and the street is shiny from recent rain.
