Remembering II

Birmingham played a large part in the Civil Rights Movement.  Thankfully, our city has come a long way since the turbulent 60's.  This is Kelly Ingram Park.  I featured it previously here.   This photograph captures the statue of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. looking towards the 16th Street Baptist Church.  To the left is the Civil Rights Institute.  We remember with pain, the past and look forward to continued healing and progress for our city and our country.

Bottom Photo:  La Tour Eiffel from Jardins des Tuileries

I am in Paris this week.  I have preposted my blog.  In addition to the Birmingham photo, I am including a Paris photo from my last trip in March, 2007.  I may from time to time leave a comment from Paris.  Thanks for stopping by.  Bonne weekend everyone!

Excellent photos and writing today, VJ. The picture of the Eiffel Tower is exquisite!

Today, the blog and I are making cupcakes a la Davis! We'll try really hard not to get frosting all over the place! But I can't make any promises about the sprinkles.

Bonsoir !
Yesterday we had a delightful afternoon and dinner with Peter, Marie=Noyale, and Alice. Thank heavens for my blog friends. Today Karen had her wallet stolen in the MEtro and thanks to Peter and Alice we were able to get things taken care of at the US Embassy and Police Dept. Never underestimate the wonderful friends you meet blogging. Two more days and then .....waaaaaa. I can't say the words.

I have always been proud of my brum's namesake and the part it plyed in the Civil Rights Movement.! Ces images sont magnifiques. La lumière est fantastique.
I totally agree about those virtual friends that we put flesh and bone to. I hope Karen has recovered from this poor show.

How about a Paris Extra blog for those images?
