The Faces of the Chinese New Year Festival

Saturday I attended the Chinese New Year Festival at Boutwell Auditorium.  Actually I did double duty as I was also recruited to help man the Museum of Art's table as well.  When there was a lull, I grabbed my camera and caught a few photographs.  Today, enjoy these portraits. More for you tomorrow!

I love your new header photo, V.

These are very beautiful photos, V; the bamboo pathway and the red bridge are magnificent - I like them best (in addition to your header photo).

Very intriguing photo; I especially like the man doing calligraphy. I have a Chinese student who describes writing Chinese characters as 'dancing on paper.'

Check out Notingham Daily for more Oriental images. You'll like.

Nice, nice!! I went to (one of) our Paris Chinatown(s) this weekend and celebrated the new year with a nice dinner together with some Chinese friends (no photos).

Merci to my producer/manager Wayne who suggested the calligapher today. I pulled another photo and added it to keep him happy and apparently you all liked it as well! He was writing the word "happy" for me!

I don't usually run photos from one event back to back but think I will continue this series for a day or two.

Olivier and Alice - Merci, je comprede!

Oops, make that "je comprends"! Sigh

Wow, this is some of your best work, # 1 and 2 particularly. # 1 is my favorite - the light is very nice and the child engages the viewer so strongly. I think she is slightly cross-eyed, which somehow makes the picture more personal.

Virginia, I just can't decide what I like more -- your faces or your architectural shots.

These are just wonderful.

OK, my favorite was the precious little girl with her parasol. I am glad you all found your personal favorites. I learn so much from your comments. BTW, I had Chinese food for lunch today. I was craving it after Saturday!
