Balusters

A few days ago I was on the Samford University campus,  and I noticed these beautiful balusters in front of the Cumberland School of Law.  The lighting was a little bright,  but the shadows were nice I thought. Check out Meandering in Lotus Land today.  I think Wayne I might be on the same track.  Could this be history in the making??

Are you practicing for May Theme Day? This would make a perfect "shadow" entry.

I knew you two would kiss and make up in the end. (At first I thought you visited Stanford, and I was going to be all put out that you didn't swing down to see us.)

Super job of form, light and shadows!
Good eye!

AH,
HA! Tracy/Hepburn!!! And I don't get to Stanford all that often, but if I do, I'll give you a call and "we'll do lunch!" (Another one for your blog)

Kate,
Thanks for the heads up on theme day. I do this every month, use a good shot and then have to scramble around the day before to find something else.

I love photos like this. The subject is so common that we don't notice it. Then someone, in this case you, sees its uniqueness and shares it with the rest of us. Thanks.

Virginia! The shadows, the shading, dare I say the geometry here is just sooooo interesting!
Looks like you are primed for the architecture in Paris to me!

FireLight,
I just looked at them and thought about all the balusters on the Paris bridges. I"m on it!

I have just checked out Kim in Seattle's photo, then clicked on her link to see Wayne's shoes---and his photo. And now I see yours! Great minds.... Very nice, and it would be good for the Shadows theme, but I'm sure you'll come up with something.

You've done it again - a fantastic light a shade photo! If the sun were out here long enough I'd have a go!

Oh, this is Southern lighting, Missy. It'll be summer soon enough. I'll never foget when I first moved to Florida, I couldn't get over how different the light was.

I'm all bull and you're all bluster. Only joking folks! This sandstone colour is very like the other Brum. Marley is right we just aren't getting the sun for these lovely neatly marked shadows.
