About 60 years ago, Homewood resident Douglass McConnell took some steel, wielded it together and made a giant star that was hung at the top of the hill on 18th Street in Homewood. Well, amazingly it's still around and is one of Homewood's most beloved traditions. Recently the city rededicated it, and you can read about it

Such a nice community tradition bringing generations together.
Nice to see these 'old' ornaments still working. Just like us, ha.
