Cheers!

Today, with any luck at all, Karen, Peter and I will be in Jardins des Tuilieries,  sitting in the chairs below, sipping a little of the above.  La vie est tres bonne!

Top photo:  Highlands Bar and Grill on Birmingham's  southside. This is the flagship restaurant of Chef Frank Stitt. When you come to Birmingham, you must eat here. Mary, next time we will!
Bottom Photo:  The fountain, Jardins de Tuileries, March 2007

My friend D.C. Confidential has graciously consented to blogsit for me while I'm gone.  Should Blogger send the gremlins out, she will fix it right up. You just never know. Thanks, J.!

I am in Paris this week.   I am preposting my blog entries.  Each day I am including a photo from my trip to Paris in March 2007 ,  in addition to my Birmingham photo.  I may from time to time leave a comment from Paris.  Thanks for stopping by!

The Tune du Jour is on the sidebar this week.  Enjoy!

Wow, this week is going to be like a double-retrospective for me. I remember seeing those champagne bottles last week and have such fond memories of having dessert at the sister restaurant next door, Chez Fonfon. According to the Paris webcams it looks like a decent first day...hugs all around!

I'm pleased to report the blog is behaving well. Intelligence sources indicate rumors of a party later this week, but I am squashing that rumor with my superior blogging skills. There will be no unchaperoned parties on my watch!

Beautiful photos today. Can't wait to see the rest! (Well, okay, I could cheat and peek early, having blogsitting privileges and all. But I won't.) :-)

I'm having fun already. I've never been to Birmingham and I've only been to Paris once, but this view of the Tuileries is one I know and love.

Hi Mums,

Hope you all made it safely. When you get to Montparnasse cemetery say hello to Serge Gainsbourg for me! Is the weather okay? What yummy food have you eaten? Everyone here is fine, right now Davis is vacuuming with his Batman mask on! Nothing like cleaning up incognito.

Try to go to Isle St. Louis, we did not make it last time. Also the famous Pain Polaine bakery!

xo,

Melissa
