CDP Theme Day - Graffiti

Today City Daily Photobloggers around the world are posting photos with this month's theme, GRAFFITI.  Those of you that know me well, know that I am NOT a fan of graffiti.  I chose this because the message is certainly one I agree with, my problem with graffiti is this:  You want to grab a can of spray paint and express yourself?? Wonderful, I'm all for it.  Go home and be creative all over your own house or your mother's, but don't deface mine or anyone else's private property.

Today you can see how my CDP friends around the world their city right here.

Yes I agree. And there is street art and there is graffiti! In Menton, it's just mindless tags. This is a little better and certainly the message is.

Some street art lifts the spirits as you walk by - this message would lift mine but really it's very crudely done.

I love your new header, Virginia!

You can express yourself as much as you want.. on your own walls.
Not on other people's walls.
Have a great weekend Virginia.

I totally agree. I'm all for freedom of expression, but please express yourself in your own property. Great shot though!

This really gets my goat. I want to collar the kids (young or old, they're kids!) who did this and ask them, "And what about the freedom of the person who owns this building??" Sigh. Such an immature definition of freedom they have.

A lot of 'graffiti artists" must have taken your advise. There is no graffiti "art" in this area. I've tried for two weeks to find some. At first I felt frustrated. Now I feel somewhat elated. Maybe the message is getting out.

Agree with you. I wanted to post some graffiti and combine it with Skywatch, but no go, so it is just Skywatch for me today.

Your comment and photo are good!!

Je suis entièrement d'accord avec vous, Virginia! On peut faire des graffitis dans des lieux prévus pour cela, pas autre part!

Amen!

We don't have much graffiti around Jackson (at least not in any places I'm willing to go to alone with a camera). But luckily I found something that worked!

I've been waiting for this day just to see what you would come up with. Perfect, as usual. And I completely agree with your sentiments. Amen and amen.

Cool colors! I do agree with your text... how could anyone disagree with that.

We don't have gradditi here in Brookville. For one reason, and that is most people can't spell except "X" and "O".

Great shot with passionate commentary. Have a nice weekend.

It saddens me that CDP would lend credibility to these despicable actions. (I refuse to call it art.) When you wallow with pigs you can expect to collect some mud.

Thank you dear friends for your comments today. I regret I couldn't around to you all. I"m starting a wonderful new part time job with Apple and although I"m thrilled for the opportunity, I am a little out of pocket with my comments right now. I hope you'll understand.

Free speech, yes! Vandalizing property with spray paint? NO!

A good photo and message about graffiti for theme day! I guess this graffiti "artist" is very much a beginner! I think EVEN I could paint that one!

Freedom is a much broader idea than this. Sure, I don't like public space defaced but I must admit that some of the images fascinate me.

V, congratulations on your new endeavor ... I'm assuming it is the computer Apple and not the Washington apple you reference.

Gotta say I wholeheartedly agree with your position on graffiti ... appropriately applied in the right location.

Nice post!
