There was a little girl BY HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW
There was a little girl, Who had a little curl, Right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, She was very good indeed, But when she was bad she was horrid.
I cannot imagine this little one being THAT bad, but she does look a bit of a scamp, doesn't she?!
Are the Red Hat Ladies recruiting younger these days? It makes me think of the old nursery rhyme:
There was a little girl Who had a little curl Right in the middle of her forehead. And when she was good She was very, very good, And when she was bad she was horrid.
Which makes me think of Mae West's variation: But when I'm bad, I'm better.

So sweet. I bet Mom was tickled --and loves this portrait.
Kate and I thought the very same thing! I had no idea that was a Longfellow poem.

Have a beautiful day.

I'm just like the others -- gush, gush, gush. I hope her mom finds this portrait and saves it.
I am with Kate - that poem is the first thing that I thought of. Lovely portrait.
Thank you all. I did think of that wonderful poem but decided that she most definitely was never "horrid:! HA
