CDP Theme Day - GREEN

Eat your greens!

Here in Alabama, we "eat funny".  Well we don't think so, but some folks ( Yankees)  think we do.  Well we love, love the greens of turnips and also collard greens.  Alabama soul food at its best.

Today is City Daily Photo Theme Day.  Click HERE to see how bloggers around the world are seeing GREEN in their neck of the woods!

Chieftess: get some collard greens at the farmers' market if you can. Wash 'em up, cut out the stems, sautee them with a little bit of olive oil and minced garlic. Toss them with pasta and ricotta and you've got yourself a simple, summer dish.

You can do it with mustard greens, too, but I like the collards better and we have both in California!

You're right. We Yankees wouldn't know what to do with these. Give them to the pigeons, maybe.
