A friend sat nearby at church last Sunday with a beautiful pale pink camellia pinned to her jacket. We're so lucky to have this breath of spring blooming in the winter months here in Birmingham! This one is from the Birmingham Botanical Gardens where there is an entire area of gorgeous bushes and even more growing inside the Conservatory.

l'espoir de l’arrivée du printemps
That camellia is gorgeous and your photo looks so real like I could reach through the monitor and pick it! - I am sorry to report that the conservatory is closed for repairs.
Ah, I can smell it over here, even through all our snow.
The stamen is so clear and brightly colored, and the petals are beautifully formed and soft. I want to touch it. Great photo.
makes me want to schlep out to Brooklyn or up to the Bronx to the Botanical Gardens .. I need a shot of spring
This is very nice Virginia. Lovely!
Camelias are one of my favorite flowers...My mom had two camellia trees on either side of the front door of our house where I grew up...they were all white...gorgeous blossoms, every year...then we had a smattering of other camellias in the yard, dark and light pinks...loved them!!!
I knew TheChief was a good match when I went to our house in Glendale for the first time when we were dating and saw several camellia bushes in the front yard!!!
All we have is blooming rain! Elegantly captured. Kudos and props are what my young fanclub here tell me I should be saying to you, re the Parisian blog. I prefer félicitations mon bon ami.
Magical reality.
Ah so, one of those camerias I was talking about the other day. The Japanese actually do say ah, so and it means the same thing to them as us. And that's all my overloaded brain has to say tonight.
