The Clock is Ticking....

at the brand new home of the Birmingham Barons, Regions Field downtown.  The opening game is set for Wednesday, April 10th against the Memphis Braves. Yesterday crews were working very hard to get it ready. They have been working tirelessly round the clock to meet the opening day!

These regional ball parks revive the nostalgia of old time baseball. And no time sucking timeouts for TV commercials. Play ball!

We've had such cold, wet weather and a late spring that it's no wonder they are behind! Looks like they just poured concrete. Hope they make it!

Hope your opener is better than ours was today (we got clobbered). I know you're not much interested in baseball but I'd like ot go to a game there some day.

Sounds like a big job - hope they make it. Will you be in attendance when the Barons meet the Braves?

Re your comment on the horse: Yes, it is a community-wide effort. Began several years ago to call attention to the importance of horse breeding and raising in this area. The project is called "Horse Fever." There are now well over a hundred of these in the Ocala area. Some people have bought them for their private property. You can buy small replicas in many shops around town. Stone Creek, the Del Webb 55+ community where we lived just bought and installed one near Reunion Bay.

They are really well done and I think a nice addition to Ocala's "horse sense"!
