No, I've taken you all to Paris. This gorgeous bread can be purchased at the Pepper Place Market every Saturday. There are usually at least three stalls selling homemade bread that is pretty close to a Paris boulangerie.
come to nyc, dear Virg, and have some of Eric Kayser's fabulous baguette or any of his awesome pastries .. we're closer than Paris, we have some fabulous museums and of course there's me!!!
For me, baguette withdrawal after a Paris visit is the most difficult to deal with. Once the taste and texture is a faint memory, I'm able to attempt a stateside 'French' baguette.
