Meet the Family

I had a reader request for more lamb photos Vickers' Historical Farm in Union Point GA,  so today, meet the family. There were more in the next stall. Excuse the little guy on the left, he wasn't quite finished with his lunch! The Mommas were keeping an eye on me.

I will be in the Atlanta/Greensboro area on May 6th for a full day photography workshop to include a field trip to Vickers' Farm in Union Point. If you are interested in more information, please contact me at virginia@virginiajonesphotography.com

Best Friends

This plucky chicken often hops on the backs for the sweet babydoll sheep at 1818 Farms in Mooresville. The sheep don't seem to mind!

Pastoral

Last week I traveled north to the historic village of Mooresville to visit 1818 Farms. The McCrary's three acre farm was a delight. There were sheep, lambs, pigs that do tricks, a goat plus "designer" chickens, not to mention wonderful vegetable, herb and flower gardens! They host farm to table dinners, tours for school groups, and their own line of soaps and lotions. See their website HERE for more info. I"m headed back soon when the flowers are in bloom! Oh and come back for more photos this week.

Baaaaaaa

Charlotte Woodson Antiques has this fabulous life size ( or I assume it's life size) sheep for sale. It seems to be keeping watch over Colin's Creatures.  How sweet is that!

Baaaaa.......

humbug??? Of course not.  The sweet lambs, the creation of Colin Richmond, are anxiously awaiting Christmas!   You can have one of these or other handmade creatures by visiting Colin's Creatures or if you're in the Birmingham area, at Dinah Toro's Charlotte Woodson Antiques in Mt. Brook Village.
