Baaaaaaa

Charlotte Woodson Antiques has this fabulous life size ( or I assume it's life size) sheep for sale. It seems to be keeping watch over Colin's Creatures.  How sweet is that!

Camera Porn!

I took Bob and Carolyn Crowe to What's On Second last Monday. I"ve been there many times but this place is so full of memorabilia you would NEVER see it all. I always head to the old camera section and swoon. This time they had them displayed with these cool pink lights.  BAM!

BTW, Bob featured some of his photos yesterday on his Saint Louis Daily Photo blog.

Reverend Mickey...

preaching to the faithful at the Church of Disney?  No, just a fanciful arrangement I found upstairs at What's On Second? in downtown Birmingham.  You just never know what you'll find, that's why I go so often!

Show Biz

Jim Reed owner of Reed Books /TheMuseum of Fond Memories must have one zillion books in his eclectic shop and can usually lay his hands on just about anything you might want.  The term "organized chaos" originate right here I think.  Actually some or most ( how do you know?) are shelved in categories.  That's how I found Audrey.

Super Skates

It's been a long time since I put on a pair of roller skates, but back in the day, I logged a lot of hours in my driveway trying to keep them on!  I'm thinking these with the closed toe might have been either before or after my time.  Maybe they didn't require as much time with that hateful skate key!
I found these at Charm on 2nd Avenue downtown.

Wheelies

Faith Skate Supply on 2nd Avenue North.  Obviously not a place I would normally hang out but it makes for some great photo ops.

Watering Cans

Thanks to Tropical Storm Lee, practically the whole state of Alabama  won't need these for quite a while, but I couldn't resist the photo!  I spotted these at Bellewether, at terrific new shop in English Village.

I Wish....

Homewood

White Flowers in downtown Homewood is one of the most beautiful shops in Birmingham.  As the name implies, EVERYTHING in the store is in shades of white, from the floor to the ceiling and all of the merchandise.  They have a fabulous selection of candles, soaps, jewelry, keepsakes, gift items,  clothing and owner/designer Diana Holman's very special line of tee shirts and other ladies wear.  Recently I passed at night and the window was magical.  The lovely poem in the window expresses my feelings for all of you.

I wish you wondrous things
that can't be tied up
in ribbons and bows.

I wish you thoughts that take
you to magnificent places.

I wish you togetherness and
                                                  abundant  happiness.

And I wish you quiet times
all to yourself when the grace
of all that is good in your life
                                                        is sweetly celebrated within.
                                                                                        White Flowers

Merry Christmas to all of you my dear and faithful readers,
V

I LOVE Your Boot!

Sometimes a girl just can't make up her mind. In that case, just wear one of each! I spotted this cutie while I was in What's On 2nd? yesterday afternoon. I told her I liked her boot and we struck up a conversation. Before I knew it, she was pretty much calling the shots.....literally. After I took numerous shoe shots, she told me she'd like some of her face, and then decided maybe she'd like one of the top of her head so I could see her hair! Oh and of course she wanted to see all the photos on my camera as well. I was happy to do just that. I guess I was so enamored, I forgot to ask her name!
