OH MY!!!!!
I joined my friends Bill and Sandi ( Whistlestop Cooking) last night at The Club. I ALWAYS take my camera when I meet them there for a sip. Last night, after weeks of balmy spring weather, it was chilly and the wind was howling atop Red Mountain. I tried to resist, but as we sat overlooking the city, the sunset got prettier and prettier. I grabbed my camera and went out not once, but twice to try and do it justice. I didn't.

Sunset on Fish River
* Today Jean takes you to south Alabama near Mobile. Enjoy your little field trip with her.
Whenever I’m on vacation at the beach or near the water, my favorite time of day is sunset! These sunset photos were taken from my friend’s home on the Fish River in south Alabama in Baldwin County near Mobile. The palette of colors can change so drastically from day-to-day! What a gorgeous view!

Urban Silhouette
Let's just stay downtown. This is sunset photographed from Kevin Irwin's studio back porch on 2nd Avenue South. I like silhouette shots and rarely can pull one off. For one a power pole is a nice addition!
* Jump on over to our friend Peter's blog today. Dusty Lens and I have the honor of being Peter's guest photographers today.

SKYWATCH FRIDAY- Birmingham Sunset
Well it's time to get back to Birmingham and join up with the Skywatch Friday gang! I took this photo about a month or so ago. This is the Birmingham skyline with the Charley Boswell Public Golf Course in the foreground. This is right in my neighborhood and I love seeing the rolling hills and nicely landscaped course when I pass it a dozen times a day. I also like that they chose to honor Birmingham's own Charley Boswell, a pro golfer who just happened to be blind and one wonderful man!
To see how all the other SKYWATCH FRIDAY participants captured their little piece of the sky click here.
ANNOUNCING THE BIRTH OF MY NEW BLOG
I plan to post 4 photos a day (maybe) so please stop by from time to time.

2 THINGS CHALLENGE - The Calm Before the Storm
While enjoying my "girls' weekend" (I use the term girls loosely) at Lake Martin this past wekend, another gal dropped in .... Hurricane Fay! Yep, she blew up from the coast on Friday night and hung around till Sunday. To say she tried to put a damper on things is an understatement. Well, if you can't sit on the dock and enjoy the sun and the view , jump in the car and shop! We made the best of a rainy weekend by doing just that . My entry for the 2THINGS CHALLENGE of Hard/Soft is a teensy bit of a stretch but here goes. The SOFT light of this fabulous sunset last Friday was a prelude to the HARD rain that came through within hours. Click above to see this week's challenge participants and their clever interpretations of Hard/Soft.
Lake Martin, located about an hour and a half SE of Birmingham, is one of the largest artificial lakes in the U.S. A beautiful place, rain or shine.
