For my Birmingham area readers, I will be exhibiting my Paris photographs at my church, Independent Presbyterian Church the month of March. This is in conjunction with our Religious Arts Festival's salute to France. Next Monday, 5 March, I will present a phototalk on Sacred Spaces of Paris. There will be wonderful events planned every day next week culminating with a concert featuring Notre Dame de Paris' organist Vincent Dubois on Sunday, 11 March. All events are open to the public and are free except for the banquet on Thursday evening. Reservations for this may be made through the church.

Field Trip !
Over the years since I began my photographic journey, I've made a few field trips north of Birmingham to Cullman, It's a sleepy little town with a lot of terrific photo ops. For a while, I"m revisiting my photos from those trips. Today and for the next few posts, we'll stop in at Southern Accents Architectural Antiques in downtown Cullman. Treasure trove is an understatement. In a warehouse out back, lots of architectural details and old windows and doors. I could have stayed a week!
Come back tomorrow as I'll still be digging through my archives for more!

Birmingham Rouge - One of My Favorites
I hope all of my BTML readers had a beautiful holiday. I"m back and hope to post more from the Ham in the new year. Today, I"m dragging out one of my favorites. This great red truck sat in a neighbor's driveway and I lusted over it every time I drove past. I caught it during a brief B'ham snow a few years ago. I still love it.

Christmas Eve - Lessons and Carols
This afternoon, I will worship at my church, Independent Presbyterian Church, to celebrate the service of 9 Lessons and Carols. Merry Christmas to all of my friends here and around the world who celebrate with me. For those of you of other faiths, I pray we will continue to honor the beliefs of each other and find peace in this troubled world.

Details
One of my favorite downtown buildings is the John Hand Building. Built in 1912, it was Birmingham's tallest building for one year, till the City Federal Building took that honor. It housed banks until recently and now it's been reborn as a mixed us building featuring downtown condos. The architectural details make it one of Birmingham's finest.
