Les Parapluies et le Bouquet

It was another rainy day at the Pepper Place yesterday. I decided that I'd have a little fun with all the umbrellas that showed up. Even though autumn is coming, there were still some lovely bouquets to be made and shared.

Lovely colours, Virginia!!

Although it is nearly autumn, you still seem to have warm temperatures over there, looking at the short sleaves!
We have the same over here: it seems to be the consquence of the "Nina-effect", because it is rather unusual that we have this warm air here in this time of year.

Que c'est joli comme photo ! I wish we would have a bit of rain, we need it, it's been so warm until now.

Such warm weather, even warmer than ours, love the photo and the metal fountain at the church. We'll be heading East soon from California and your photos have made me want to visit Birmingham.

For me it would be "Le bouquet et les parapluies."
But I keep smiling at the name "Pepper Place" such an awesome name for a market place!

Thérèse,
Well you might be right on the title. I am thinking I've not explained how the market got that name. It's housed around the old Dr. Pepper bottling company. The name is still on the building! That said, it probably does make one think of "peppers" sold there!

Linda,
I hope my blog lures you to Birmingham one day.

Blognote,
We're glad you're home from your holiday! I can't wait to see your photos from your travels. And our weather is still very warm. In the 80's this past week and humid and rainy as well. Still warm in Arona? Ahhhhh , you know how much I want to visit!!! On day..........:)

Its only 48 here this morning and I am looking forward to wearing a cardigan over my tee when I go to the GreenMarket later to see what wonderful fall flowers there are to make a bouquet or plant in a window box!

Love the coordinating colors of les parapluies

Looks inviting! We're promised rain for this week, but those promises are easily broken out here.

(I just assumed the original store at Pepper Place sold spices.)

Virginia, what serendipity to find 2 pink umbrellas held by women in pinkish shirts as well as the matching bouquet of flowers. The photography god looks over you, that's for sure!

LOL I'm reading the comments and it just shows me a lot about Birmingham. I can remember when I first moved there some one gave me directions by saying "the old k-mart" on green springs to find the tag office.

Steviewren,
Yes she does! What is not shared is the gazillion other shots that didn't pan out! C'est la vie. :)

Char,
LOL, yes, I STILL refer to that place as the old KMart! We tend to hang on to things around here don't we!

V, I heard about the art exhibit from Yale while listening to Public Radio on the way to work. I have a few extra days with an upcomimg fall break and might make it to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness! Guess I will miss good old Pepper Place. Also, I ordered your Paris calendar yesterday! Hugs!

FIrelight,
Let me know when you'll be coming and I would love nothing better than to meet you at the museum and go through the exhibit with you! Thanks for ordering the calendar!

parasol or umbrella? Either way they make for interesting subjects.

I adore rainbows that are so colorful. I have a 'Monet' one that I bought when a shower caught me off guard in Paris....

Who needs the sun !!

Lovely! Sure beats black-only umbrellas, which can be such a bore. If you can believe it, my word verification is sunho. Hope the sun returns soon!
