Autumn Bistro

The nice thing about living in the "burbs" is that you can run to the grocery store and then make a quick left at the Botanical Gardens to catch a few quick shots.  I walked around for about half an hour and enjoyed the warm late afternoon sunshine.  The last roses of summer are fading, but some still beautiful and  sweet smelling (see below).   The leaves are almost ready to put on a grand show in the very near future.   I especially liked this scene with the sprinkling of golden brown leaves all around.  Oh,  I'll be back!

 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
OK, I haven't dressed up for Halloween since about the 7th grade.  That said, in a weak moment I let Wayne talk me into being Natasha to his Boris today. We are both so O.L.D. that we forgot until a while ago.  In case you are wondering, YES,  Natasha and I have similar figures! In fact we look very much alike except for hair color of course. Now who wants to be Bullwinkle??? Anyone???

The Tune du Jour is  "Young at Heart" by Frank Sinatra.  Why you ask?  Because going to Paris really is a fairy tale come true!

Virginia - Well that beautiful bistro table will soon be occupied by friends in Paris - making us all wish we were along. I can almost smell your rose! What a beautiful picture. We can always count on you giving us the very best. You selected one of my very favorites by Frank.

superb your first picture, a little sad I think it looks like an end of the season, everyone left and the place is abandoned. A picture tells a story, I love.

The light in the garden setting is exquisite, Virginia. Until I enlarged it, I thought the photo was sepia. I missed your grand announcement of tripping off to Paris. How long are you staying for?

Web, Olivier, Tash, Laurie and Eki, Merci beaucoup!!

Judy, Glad you like the tune. Fairy tales do come true they say.

Maybe I'm just in a Halloween mode, but the browns and wrought iron look kind of ghostly.
You are soooo going to rock the face off of those Paris bistros!

Good morning, Virginia. You're very Zen today with your minimalist approach to the end of warm weather. We are definitely feeling the cool weather here so I think we may actually have a winter this year. I'm looking forward to it.

I love changing out my header, it's like and extra post of a different kind. The kids in the header look so wonderful, I'm sure they'll get a thrill out of seeing themselves.

What a beautiful rose! The bistro looks like a nice place for a coffee or a hot cocoa and to enjoy some fall scenery.

I can immagine myself sitting there in the warm sun with a book and a glass of chilled white wine for apéritif. (I have to confess that I did that here too, till the weather permitted so: these last days it has been pouring down with rain and it is getting cold. Should not complain: Autumn is Autumn! At least we still have some blooming roses on our terrace!!

Virginia said...

Thank you Hope. I appreciate your visits so much.

D.,
i think your terrace so lovely. How nice to enjoy your wine there for just a while longer till the weather runs you inside. Our weather is still fine. We can enjoy our patios, porches and decks still. Funny you stopped by, I was just listening to La Vie en Rose!!!

Hey Babooshka, you need to get back home more often - we even have cafes now with table and chairs outside(see my last blog entry)!
