Timeless

I found a new antique store the other day.  Christopher House is located in the Pepper Place antique district.  The afternoon sun was streaming in the high windows and I wanted to photograph everything it touched.  Not my usual subject matter, but it was all about the light. These antique candleholders with their beautiful prisms made for some gorgeous reflections. Timeless indeed.

The Tune du Jour is "The Poet"  from Michael Dulin's album Timeless.  Click the arrow to play.
Thanks to Dusty Lens for helping me embed the player right here.  Now each post will have its own player and you can hear the Tune du Jour whenever you visit!

Discover Michael Dulin!

Virginia, These are beautiful photos - especially love the first one with the prism colors. Love too that you've gotten the music to "stay" with the post. It was my computer yesterday that was the problem for me. You've gotten my husband and me hooked on Michael Dulin. He should give you a raise!

I'm not sure which of your two photos I like best, they are both lovely. The second, perhaps? Too hard to choose!

To answer your question about wines, there really isn't much white produced around the region.
There's a nice rosé called Listel that you could try.
Otherwise it's all red, the very strong and heavy Chateauneuf du Pape or the lighter Côtes du Ventoux or Rosé du Luberon.
Cheers!

(no wonder you missed the Maubec photo the first time around, I added it afterwards :-)

Very nice photo. I also like to work with and around light. Morning and evening light especially.

Gorgeous! I wasn't sure what it was from the CDP portal.
I can spend hours on end rummaging through antique shops. Haven't found a good one here yet, but I've yet to give up the quest!

A popular choice. The prism colours bouncing around through the light are wonderful. Several veiwng to appreciate the whole glorious scene. I'd like to see more of your experimentation with light. Thinking outside the box has certainly worked here. More please.

THose prisms and the light reflected (goes through) them make a wonderful visual, V. I love these pictures.

Judy,
Shameless Plug: You can buy Michael's CD's at Amazon, I Tunes and CD BABY and most music stores.

Nice idea to imbed the tune and even better to let it play while I cruise around the web. He's pretty wonderful.
I love this series. I like rustic, vintage, and lived-in, and I love the way you've captured that. So nice and comforting.

I cannot pass up a new antique shop. Some of the best ones are in little towns like...Safford, Globe, Solomosville, Miami...Arizona towns. Road Trip!!

again, the light makes this shot.
the rainbow as the light is refracted through the prism is just beautiful and i imagine not that easy to capture so crisply on camera. these candleholders look like stalactites! but instead of dripping calcium they bleed light :)
thank you V - i've missed how beautiful your page is :)

Virgina, Appreciate the "plug" but we've already ordered "Timeless" from Amazon and are waiting with baithed breath for it's arrival. Thanks for introducing him to us and to you too for that matter. Said it before - love your site. Look forward to each days surprise.

Judy,
I have sold myself on TImeless this week! Many thanks. If you want to send the insert from the cd to me, I will be happy to get Mike to autograph for you.
Email me.

Thanks everyone for your continued visits and comments. Your thoughts help me to be a better photographer and writer, for this I am so grateful.
