Zoolight Safari

The Birmingham Zoo has sponsored their Zoolight Safari  for many years,  but I'll have to admit this was my first visit. They boast over half million lights and I will concur.  It was great fun wandering through the grounds and seeing so many grand light displays, but the most fun was of course the train ride through the park.  For my Birmingham readers, there's still time to see it all.

I wonder what the animals think of all that twinkling and night time traffic.

There is a similar Festival of Lights in Los Angeles in Griffith Park, near the zoo, but not in the zoo.

We had a Festival of Lights at Canyon Lodge ski slope...skiers and snowmobiles in synchronization, carrying torches, fireworks...Lot's of fun and beautiful too!!!

Being a weekender/tourist town, there aren't a lot of Christmas lights in the neighborhoods...but the streets are strung with lights!!!

Ooh, love the light. It looks like a river of dark gold. There should be some oompa-loompas around somewhere.
