Chess in the Park I - Linn Park

One sunny Saturday afternoon, these nice gentlemen allowed me to horn in on their chess game at Linn Park.

j'aime beaucoup ce b&w, avec le contre jour sur le premier joueur

J'aime beaucoup la couleur mais j'avoue que le noir et blanc est très artistique.

It's always very quiet around a chess game. Like the feel of this picture.

Monochrome suits this one perfectly

I just LOVE that sort of atmosphere. The whole idea of going out to play chess in a park seems so civilized to me !

Great b&w

After studying this photo, it struck me that the fellow in the shadow is also the one playing black chess pieces while the one in the light has white pieces. It would have been a completely different photo done in color. Nicely done.

Oops...I posted my comment above from the Augusta Library, forgetting that I hadn't signed in as myself.

That's a fine picture. The light-dark, sun-shadow contrast brings some drama to the game. I just noticed that the man in sunlight is playing the white pieces and the one on shadow plays the black. Nice harmony.

Nice image. I like it in b & w. And, I like that you captured the gentleman's finger on the chess piece. It makes me wonder, 'What was his move?!'
