Well leave it to the cute couple that owns
Snow's Bend Farms to come up with some fancy okra that we haven't seen around here! Maybe today I'll buy a handful of that nice red and purple variety and give it a try. You just never know what you'll find at the Pepper Place!

beautiful...will you let us know what you make with it?
Well, I didn't "knew." Say, do you have a famous TV cooking show.....
This is very nice Virginia.
I have never seen that red and purple variety before Virginia.
Thanks for sharing.
Costas
The youngest and smallest ones fried in a pan... miam miam!
Never tried them... I'm game! Wait! Had it in a gumbo once. Too slimy! Yuk!
BC, I love it boiled with my black eyed peas but I was raised on it that way.
Bird,
Now let's not get all hung up- on the "slimy" thing! HA
Therese,
I LOVE it sliced, rolled in cornmeal and fried. MIAM!
Costas, you have to come to B'ham for that!
Leif, Ya'll better believe it ya'll!
Luis, ever eaten it?
I've seen purple asparagus before but never red okra. Wonder if it tastes the same?
It all looks so good. How I have enjoyed fresh produce this summer.
Purple food. Works for me.
I dont care if its deep fried or fancy or plain .. its not a veggie I eat ...
No okra for me, V...but thanks for offering...I'm with Bird on the slimy bit, and agree with Daryl!!! But they look good!!!
Did the red one tastes any different from the regular green one?
I absolutely love okra. I grew up eating them - simple stir fry with some spicy, pungent shrimp paste. Yum!
I had the corn-breaded-and-fried version, which is good. Ditto the pickled ones.
