Some Shady Business

I've noticed some very chic parasols around here lately. I think it's great way to escape the sun on these scorching hot days.

I'm pleased to announce that a few of my Paris Rouge photographs are now being featured on My French Life!  Please go have a look.

Love umbrellas in a photo, esp if they are as well done as this one! I followed your link, too; wonderful exposure for your book. Congratulations!

Every time I see these I think of ice cream sundaes with small parasols....or cocktails! Beautiful.

If someone deserves to be featured in "My French Life", it is you Virginia.
After all your photographs are showing Paris are really a must to see.
And love your parasols and the ladies under them.

Ok, stupid question dept... is there a difference between a parasol and an umbrella?

I have noticed more and more ladies carrying umbrellas to keep the sun off but not lovely parasols like these. Love the idea - I should get a parasol and a fan and I would be set.

P.S. Love the Paris rouge shots!

Like this a lot. You balanced the light and the shady areas very well. It is common to see elderly ladies with parasols here but the young people don't get it. Mad dogs and St. Louisans go out in the midday sun.

And, I couldn't help but take the opportunity to shamelessly promote...

I have always wondered if I would ever land on your blog and there I am, parasol #2. Never leave home without it! These are beautiful shots.
