Birmingham Cash Mob selects a small business in Birmingham for a hit to encourage shoppers to support our local small businesses. Well today I heard that
Soujourns Fair Trade was the spot, I had to go. I took along Meeps, who is after all their Spokes Kitty. She rode down in her pink polka dot kitty carrier, unwillingly. Once there, Melissa, the owner, closed the door and gave her the run of the shop. She headed for the front window that was decorated with carved cats and birds. Perfect! After that she shopped a little, mostly for scarves, then sought the safety of a stool, and a skirted table. We attempted a photo shoot in a cute tie dyed scarf but that didn't pan out. When we left she made it pretty evident that she was NOT riding home in the carrier. I didn't argue.

meeps is looking a little freaked out. have you tried putting her in her carrier back end first?
Very interesting shop! And beautiful kitty.
i think she's too big for that carrier which likely is part of the problem and going out in the carrier I am sure reminds her of her visit to the vet ...
Very nice Virginia. Meeps looks great!
D, You could be right. It's more like a purse so she got her head out and then tried to jump out. It's not ideal, but sooooooocute!
Meeps is still young and shy... she will need a few more trips to get used to her carrier...
Meeps knows the important things in life Virginia, did she find a nice scarf haha!
You are a fine maman...
Escuuuse me...pink polka dot??? Perhaps she felt that was a bit too childish...after all, Meeps is a sophisticated, stylish cat....
What I really want is the video of you trying to convince Meeps that the carrier was a good idea!
Love the idea of a Cash Mob. Who organizes this? And how'd you get those checkered socks on Meeps? Haha.
Meeps is so cute. You were wise not to push the carrier issue return trip! Glad she had a good romp.
