This past year, the Mountain Brook City Hall, Police Department and Fire Department have undergone a complete renovation. Their new facility has been enhanced with the new addition of a very special memorial. The Fire Department wrote a grant and now are the proud owners of an H beam that was once part of the World Trade Center. This 7 foot, 1305 pound beam now stands proudly outside the station. The bronze base was designed by artist Shea Scully. Today, the dedication.

that is so appropriate and so lovely
Virginia, this is a wonderful post for today. Thank you.
We saw a beam from the Twin Towers in a memorial in New Zealand.
Perfection...
The right shot for today, Virginia.
That's moving. It reminds me of the twin towers themselves. All the times we flew into Newark or La Guardia and saw them standing at attention. . .
It does, I thought it was a replica of the Towers. This is wonderful! I'm happy for the Mountain Brook FD!
Moving.
Just cant believe it was 12 years ago.
