Looks a bit like quilted fabric but must be aluminum or inox plating. This kind of plating you don't see in europe. Looks fun to me to make furniture with it. Thanks for showing.
I've seen similar plating in trucks here. Even in the dead of winter, considering what they're cooking inside, they're staying warm.
